Just for Fun

The idea was to divide a picture in half to show how something changes over time. I chose to show how swim suit photography has changed over time, but this is hardly a case of then and now, since this is much too tame for "now", so I chose to portray "then and then a little later". This is from a black and white photo of Joan Blondell. I've colorized half, removed a portion of her suit, and changed her make up a little.

good work. :) Did you just figure that out all by yourself or do you have some sort of training?

I wouldn't have known how to remover her suit. That would have been way beyond my photoshop abilites, but it looks good!

I have not had any formal training. I use GIMP and a Wacom tablet and taught myself to us them. My mother was a commercial artist, however, so you could say that I learned graphic arts at my mother's knee. ;-) Removing her suit was basically a matter of painting over the portions I wanted to remove with skin colors and then shading it.
